Research Network on Photovoltaic-Thermal (PVT) Technologies and Systems
A collaborative platform connecting early-stage researchers and experienced mentors working to advance innovative PVT systems across Europe and beyond.
Photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) systems provide a powerful solution to generate both electricity and heat from a single solar collector. Despite their potential, they remain underutilized globally.
The PVT NEXUS Network supports a new generation of researchers and fosters expert collaboration to bridge this gap, accelerating knowledge exchange, innovation, and deployment of PVT technologies.
We aim to complement initiatives like IEA SHC Task 73 and create a vibrant, interdisciplinary community shaping the future of PVT.
Early-stage researchers (MSc or PhD students, or up to 2 years post-degree) involved in any PVT-related topic, from advanced materials and hybrid systems to performance modelling or real-life applications.
Mentors: Mid-to-senior researchers and professionals working on PVT systems willing to support, supervise, and collaborate with emerging talent.
Whether you’re a student exploring thesis opportunities or a seasoned expert looking to shape the next generation, this network is for you.
For Early-stage Researchers:
- Build your research network and connect with peers, mentors, and industry experts.
- Present your research, gain feedback, and access new methods and tools.
- Explore thesis topics, internships, and research opportunities.
- EU collaboration: Join project proposals and academic–industry partnerships.
- Mentorship, receive guidance from experienced PVT experts.
- Gain visibility and present at organised webinars, events, and conferences.
- Receive guidance and information on EU and international mobility programmes supporting research visits, internships, and fellowships.
For Mentors:
- Support talent and guide early-stage researchers aligned with your expertise.
- Share knowledge, lead webinars, workshops, and discussion forums.
- Promote your work through the network.
- Share MSc/PhD topics and internship offers.
- Get matched with motivated students, with mobility funding guidance (ERASMUS, EU4EU, etc.).
- Collaborate on publications and conference contributions.
- Team up for joint application for Horizon Europe, CET Partnership, and more.
For Early-stage Researchers:
Submit your application via our online form, including:
- A brief motivation letter (max. 250 words) outlining your research interests, current work, and how you wish to contribute to the Network (PDF).
- An updated CV (PDF) including relevant academic background, research experience, and current institutional affiliation.
All applications are reviewed by the PVT4EU coordination team. Selection will be based on eligibility, motivation, and potential to contribute to collaborative research activities.
Applicants will receive a decision at their registered email address within 4 weeks of submission.
For Mentors:
Please express your interest via our online form. We will get in touch to align expectations and feature your profile.
