Solutions

The technological feasibility of the PVT4EU technologies will be extensively studied with a strong methodological structure through five phases within the project: Design and Development, Modeling, Prototyping and Testing, Integration, and Impact Evaluation. PVT4EU generates impact in a multitude of areas and sectors. It can be grouped into 5 different main impact groups relating to technological, economic, environmental, and societal impacts:

SolarPeak Collector (PVT-SP)

Version 1.0

SolarPeak has developed a novel heat recovery media (HRM) for HVAC systems, featuring a design that creates zigzag flow to enhance heat transfer efficiency. Unlike conventional parallel tube designs in PVT collectors, this HRM promises better performance and potential adaptation for retrofitting PV panels into innovative PVT collectors with further improvements.

Version 2.0​

The technical characteristics of V2 of the SolarPeak PVT collector will be shared at the end of the project. These characteristics will be obtained after the final performance testing campaign based on international standards.

Solarus Collector (PVT-SOL)

Version 1.0

The Double MaReCo (DM) is a symmetric CPC reflector geometry that is specifically designed for PVT collectors to increase the annual output at all latitudes. The bifacial PVT absorber has eight elliptical channels to increase the heat transfer between the aluminum receiver core and the HTF, increasing in this way the HTF temperature and thereby enhancing the electrical efficiency. Figure demonstrates the current version of the DM collector. Further improvements can be made to this collector to increase the thermal output and electrical efficiency.
