PVT4EU Project at a glance

PVT4EU is a research project that aims to develop two innovative PVT collectors that could be an efficient and cost-effective solution for domestic heating and cooling demand and low—to medium-temperature industrial processes (20℃-140℃). The Consortium comprises six partners from Sweden, Denmark, and Portugal.

This project has received funding from the CETPartnership Joint Call 2022 Program under the grant agreement No.Cetp-2022-00403.

Strategic objective

Assess the potential applications and impacts (technical, social, and environmental) of the PVT technologies to be developed, disseminate the results, and establish a solid long-term dependable European innovation plan.

Aim

The PVT4EU project aims to advance technology and validate it through experimental testing, focusing on two main innovations: the Solarpeak PVT (PVT-SP) collector for building applications, and the MG-Solarus PVT (PVT-SOL) collector for domestic and industrial use in medium-low temperature environments. The project emphasizes eco-design and evaluates economic, environmental, and social impacts to enhance deployment, standardization, and certification amid growing regulatory demands.

Consortium

The PVT4EU project has a strong and compact consortium including universities, research institutes, and SMEs with a compelling background in state-of-the-art PV cell technologies development, PVT collectors manufacturing thermal, electrical, and optical development, modeling, prototyping, and technological impact assessment.

Duration and budget

The PVT4EU project commenced in October 2023 and is scheduled to continue for a duration of 36 months, concluding in September 2026. This timeframe encompasses the entire span of the project’s activities, including research, development, testing, and implementation phases, with each stage meticulously planned to ensure the project’s success within the designated timeline.
